Approach
A consulting method that starts on the shop floor
No ready-made model, no grand speeches. A plant cannot be run with slides: I begin by going to see the workshop, then move forward with your teams, step by step, measuring what changes.
Four steps
Understand, decide, act, anchor
- UnderstandI come to see the workshop, the flows, the teams. Management, supervisors and operators do not share the same view: I listen to all of them, and I look at what is really happening.
- DecideClear priorities, shared with you: actions ranked by impact and effort, with owners and deadlines, so that you know what to do first.
- ActI roll it out with your teams, on the shop floor. Imposed changes do not last; those the teams make their own do.
- AnchorIndicators and routines so that it lasts: simple measures defined from the start, rituals put in place, an approach your teams know how to continue without me.
The four steps in detail
01 · Understand
A reliable diagnostic is built on site, not in a spreadsheet. I spend time in the workshops, warehouses and offices: I observe the flows, measure, ask questions and analyse your indicators. The aim is to tell causes from symptoms before proposing anything.
02 · Decide
I give you factual findings and ranked priorities. You decide knowing the facts: which scope, which resources, which pace. Each action has an owner, a deadline and an expected result.
03 · Act
I run the projects with your teams, in the workshop, drawing on change management (the ADKAR method): explain why, create the desire, train, support, recognise. The person you meet is the person who carries out the assignment.
04 · Anchor
Simple indicators, regular check-ins, written standards: what has been gained must hold when I am no longer there. Your internal leads take over, and the approach extends to other scopes.
Principles
How I work
A first 30-minute conversation is enough to know whether Metiva can help, and how. I come to you: everything is understood on site.
- The shop floor first: the answers are in the workshop, not in a presentation.
- Teams at the centre: they are the ones who will make the change live.
- Plain language: that of the shop floor as well as that of management, without jargon.
- Proven methods: lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt), ADKAR change management (Prosci).
- One point of contact: the person you meet is the person who carries out the assignment.
- A commitment to means and deliverables, never to a numerical result promised in advance.
The method applied
This approach runs through each of my offers: operational diagnostic, savings diagnostic, field support, interim management, in-house training and digital tools. To see it in practice, read for example how to map the value stream of a plant (article in French).
