Offer 02 · Savings diagnostic

Cut your plant costs, outside raw materials

The fastest savings are rarely found in production itself. They sit in contracts nobody has put out to tender, in consumables ordered out of habit, in wasted energy, in services that are no longer needed and in administrative hours that create nothing. In five days, I put figures on them with you.

The principle

Six cost lines under the microscope

The savings diagnostic goes through the operating-account lines where you can act quickly, without touching the product or the teams. For each one, we look for two types of lever:

  • Change supplier or contract: competitive tendering, renegotiation, grouped purchasing, cancelling what is no longer used.
  • Change technology or practice: a more economical machine, a different consumable, another process, an end to waste, automation of a task.

Raw materials are deliberately out of scope: they call for other approaches, and that is what makes this diagnostic fast and free of risk for quality or safety.

Cost lines reviewed

  1. Energyelectricity, gas, compressed air, heating, contracts and subscribed power
  2. Indirect purchasingsupplies, rentals, telecoms, insurance, subscriptions
  3. Maintenanceparts, contracts, outside interventions
  4. Production consumablestools, abrasives, lubricants, cleaning products, packaging
  5. Subcontracting and servicestransport, waste, recurring services
  6. Administrative timerepeated data entry, manual reporting, automatable tasks

Who it is for

Companies that want to act quickly on costs

Industrial SMEs, mid-sized companies and regional subsidiaries of groups that want to reduce their costs without a heavy reorganisation, with results that are quick to measure: an eroding margin, a budget to hold, an energy price rise to absorb, an acquisition or a sale to prepare.

What you get

  • A list of quantified savings opportunities, line by line
  • An action plan prioritised by gain, effort and risk, with one owner per action
  • Estimated gains for the year, to track action by action
  • Teams who know how to repeat the exercise

How it runs

Five days, from the invoice to the action plan

  1. ScopingWe set the scope and the participants. You send me the operating account, the main contracts and the invoices of the last twelve months.
  2. AnalysisI rank the cost lines by amount, spot what nobody follows, and prepare the questions and the comparisons.
  3. Field and workshopOn site, I check actual consumption and usage, then bring together the people who know the cost lines to find and quantify opportunities. A one-day workshop with a small group is often the most effective format.
  4. PresentationI hand management the quantified opportunities and the prioritised action plan. Implementation follows, as field support if you wish.

Deliverables

  • Quantified savings opportunities, ranked by gain, effort and risk
  • A prioritised action plan, with owners and deadlines
  • An estimate of annual gains and a tracking table
  • A presentation to management

Duration and terms

Fixed fee of 5 days, adapted to your scope.

Travel included up to 100 km from Poligny. Precise quote after a first conversation. No reduction in quality or safety is sought: these limits are set at the outset.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions

Why are raw materials excluded?

Because they depend on the product and on suppliers that are often powerful: working on them calls for separate design or negotiation work. The other cost lines, which are watched less closely, hold faster savings with no impact on the product.

Does it mean cutting staff?

No, that is not the aim. The diagnostic covers energy, indirect purchasing, maintenance, consumables, subcontracting and administrative time. Management decides which opportunities to pursue.

Are the savings guaranteed?

No. The diagnostic identifies and quantifies opportunities. Delivering them depends on validations (quotes, trials, negotiations) and on follow-up. I promise no amount in advance.

Who takes part?

Management for scoping and the final presentation, and the people who know the cost lines: production, maintenance, purchasing, finance, logistics, EHS. A workshop with a small group can be part of the programme.
